In South Africa, the past is in the present, and we must start a serious dialogue on reparative justice if we are to realise racial and social justice and thus urgently begin to resolve the national question. Otherwise, we will see more protests by the so-called born frees and their middle- and upper-class parents to be accommodated and included in (formerly) white spaces.
